Remember, it's one written exam for both applications.  If you qualify, apply for both but register for one exam only!

YOU CAN NOW REGISTER YOURSELF FOR AN EXAM!  After submitting your application, County of San Diego Department of Human Resources will review your application to make sure you meet the minimum qualifications.  Upon meeting the minimum qualifications, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to register for the exam.  That notice will have instruction on how to register.  It's that easy!

Per California P.O.S.T, you may not take the entry-level law enforcement exam twice in one month period (within 30-days). If you do, the second exam you take will not be counted. Unfortunately, at this time the San Diego Sheriff's Department does not accept T-scores from other agencies either. If you are unsure about a test you took with another agency you either need to contact that department or California P.O.S.T.
