The chart below represents the typical hourly base pay for
Deputy Sheriff Detentions/Courts. The left side of the chart
represents your classification. The top of the chart represents
your step in pay.
Deputy Sheriff-Detentions/Courts Cadet wage
is based on a 40 hour work week. Deputy Sheriff-Detentions/Courts
steps one through seven wage is based on a 42.5 hour work
week.
Upon graduating, you move to step 1 as Deputy Sheriff
Detention/Courts. Then, in six months, you move to
step 2. Then, six months later, you move to step 3.
After that, it is yearly until you reach step 7. It
takes two years to reach step 8. Then, another three
years to reach step 9.
Have a College Degree?
Deputies with a Bachelor Degree qualify for a 5% pay increase
after 4 years of service.
