The typical hourly base pay for Deputy Sheriff Lateral will
be determined by our Department of Human Resources (DHR).
They will take into account the years of experience as a
California
Peace officer with your current department.
Pay varies depending on the position you applied for.
DHR will determine which pay Step you will begin
with, it can be anywhere from Step 2 through Step 8 on the
corresponding pay chart (Law Enforcement pay chart or
Detentions/Courts pay chart).
Remember this is based on the years of experience as
a
CALIFORNIA peace officer only.
**Lateral pay does
not apply for out of state applicants or those Law
Enforcement Deputies who wish to work in our
Detentions/Courts division.
