RADIO COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS ENGINEER
The Sheriff's Department, Wireless Division has an opening for a Radio Communications Systems Engineer. The Wireless Services Division of the Sheriff's Department operates and maintains the San Diego County - Imperial County Regional Communications System (RCS) radio network which provides public safety radio communications service to more than 20,000 subscriber radios in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Department is beginning the transition to "next generation" wireless technologies providing public safety communications and is seeking individuals who will continually work to support and enhance wireless communications systems.
As part of the Sheriff's Wireless Services Division this position will perform engineering, analytical, and project management work on the County's radio communications systems. This includes analyzing, coordinating, designing, and maintaining telecommunications systems, equipment, and associated circuits for the transmission, reception, and display of voice, data, and other information on wireless communication systems.
